1885 Grill- Kennesaw

Came to 1885 Grill with a friend after hearing all about it and had a good time! The service was outstanding despite an event starting soon and we were attended to constantly. Waiter came by multiple times to check on us and make sure everything was alright. The food was good, mainly with the appetizers being okay while the entree and dessert were absolutely amazing. We ordered the Fried Green Tomatoes as well as the Smoked Salmon and Artichoke Dip. The fried green tomatoes were good, but the chow-chow and pimento cheese didn’t pair well with it. We didn’t enjoy the smoked salmon and artichoke dip at all, but when we alerted the waiter he took it back and didn’t charge us for it which was very kind of him. For the main entree I ordered the 1885 Burger and the Mac & Cheese and absolutely devoured it. Was one of the best burgers i’ve ever had! It was seasoned well, the toppings paired great with it, and the Mac & Cheese was a great addition. My friend ordered the Grilled Salmon and Mac & Cheese and said it was good but could’ve used more salt which he added himself. Lastly we ordered a slice of Cheesecake and it was some of the best i’ve ever had from a restaurant. Creamy, delicious, and not too heavy! Overall it was a great experience with some delicious food and I will be returning when I get another chance.

We really liked the restaurant building! We were greeted immediately and lead to our table. Our server was Ricari and we enjoyed his personality and great service provided. We passed on the apps and shared a simple salad. I got the Fried Flounder Dinner and it was good, but Teresa got the Red Fish with a Crawfish Topping! Wow was it good...all the way through our meal, I was wishing I had ordered it too! Ricari notice on my drivers license that I just had a birthday and served us a Birthday Brownie with Ice Cream! The prices were right and the portions were large! Overall, we had a great experience and look forward to coming back again.

This was our first visit to 1885. We were super impressed with the food. We tried the macaroni and cheese balls, and the fried okra and pimento cheese appetizer. For our entrees I ordered the grilled salmon and my boyfriend ordered the honey glazed shrimp skewers. Everything was extremely fresh and delicious and cooked perfectly. The seasonings were amazing! We understand there is a new chef at this location and he is doing a superb job! We cannot wait to come back as we want to try more dishes on the menu. The drinks at the bar were also very delicious I had a chocolate martini. The service was perfect and we enjoyed everything about our visit. We also had the bread pudding for dessert and it was absolutely incredible!

From the moment we walked in, the service was on point friendly, fast, and with real smiles, not fake ones. We started with the Mac & Cheese Balls, and man, they caught me off guard. I’m not a mac & cheese person, but these are different crispy outside, creamy inside, more like croquettes. Definitely a must-try. Now the steak cuts… that’s where they nailed it . Real grill flavor smoky, juicy, that kind of taste that takes you back to when you fire up the charcoal at home. It’s been years since I had meat that good. The Cajun Chicken didn’t quite make the cut not bad, just lacking that spark. And for the drinks, presentation was solid but the flavor didn’t match the look. Pretty, but not memorable. Overall, good vibes, great service, and real potential. With a few tweaks, this could easily be a 5-star spot. For now, a well-deserved 4/5⭐, and I’ll definitely be back to see how they level up.

Wow! Honestly the food is fantastic and the staff alone will make you want to come back every time you think of food. The oysters, the cheesecake, the shrimp and grits just the crazy jokes makes it a wonderful place. I really like to keep for myself, but I’m gonna be nice and let you know it’s all here at the 1885 right smack in the middle who would’ve thought.! Les, the Assistant Manager and Webster the server will make you feel at home. We got back in town from international travel and all I can think of was going to 1885 what a great place.!

Fantastic food, amazing burger, and salad! The service was excellent and attentive. We waited for a table for about 10 minutes. The upper deck was open, but we never made it up there.

The rooftop bar was just dreamy on this warm December night, and our server was great! I wish I could remember his name, but he was young with slightly longer dark hair. He was the rooftop server and bartender. He recommended to me the chicken soup and took our order well. The soup was spectacular! My husband loved his salmon, and my parents said their trout was cooked better than they’d ever had. Can’t forget our Fried Green Tomatoes! Definitely worth it! We will certainly be back! Thank you for a lovely visit.

We stumbled upon this gem while searching Google. It is definitely one of our new favorites. The building itself is beautiful and the interior of the restaurant was warm and inviting. We can't say enough about the excellent service! Our waiter Mere was awesome! All of his suggestions were spot on. The pimento and fried okra appetizer, cajun trout and Redfish were so good! Mere was knowledgeable, friendly and made our dinner a lot of fun! We also loved that the manager came by to check on us. We were so full after our meal, but couldn't resist Mere's recommendation of the pecan pie bread pudding. Just wow! We took what we couldn't eat home and it was just as delicious reheated. We will definitely make the drive (all the way from North Ga) to visit here again. Thank you 1885 and Mere for an amazing dining experience !
